Elgin Community Network

July 28th, 2008

Remember when I told you I went to DNA’s Out to Lunch and might’ve happened upon a cool opportunity? Well that opportunity was the Elgin Community Network, and now I am on their board! I’ve been meaning to mention this for a couple months, but was too lazy to write up a description of the organization.

They have a website now, so I don’t have to write a description! Click here to visit the brand spanking new Elgin Community Network website and check out who we are, and what we do.

My main role right now is to find ways to promote safe bicycling in Elgin, and the first thing we’re doing is an Elgin Bike-to-Work Week August 2-8th. Click here for more details!

You can check out my agency (CMAP)’s bicycling strategy report and my blog on Bike to Work Week for some biking tips!

Also wanted to let you know that we mentioned your blog (and other Elgin blogs) in the GO TO 2040 blog-on-bloggers. Perhaps you could add a link to our website on your main page?

    Thanks!

I have read the bicycling report but I’m not sure about the blog. I’ll definitely check it out. I have linked to Goto2040 in blog posts before, but I will also add it under the “transportation” section on the front page.
