Why does this blog exist?
This blog’s focus is my exploration of and involvement in my city–Elgin, Illinois. I hope it will encourage people to get out and enjoy where they live too!

Who writes this blog?
My name is Jessica, and I was born in and raised in Elgin. I moved to Naperville to attend North Central College, followed by four and a half years in Chicago–two working at the University of Chicago, and the rest attending grad school at the University of Illinois at Chicago. As of October 2007 I am living in Elgin again, working full-time out of my apartment as an urban planner.
