How did I miss these? This time with commentary:
1) Carpool to donate plasma get paid
I drive twice a week to donate plasma in Aurora from Elgin. I will tell you what donating is about (you get paid each time). I am looking for people to carpool with me to split cost.
That is the exact listing. Donating plasma twice a week? Is that healthy? Not judging, I honestly don’t know how it works. [Update: I looked it up and yes, you can donate plasma twice a week and be just fine.]
The Elgin Branch of American Association of University Women is sponsoring Femmeprov, an improvisation workshop for women of all ages, on Saturday June 21 from 9-5. A performance open to the public will be held at 3:30 the afternoon of the workshop. A cost of $25 will cover continental breakfast, Chinese lunch, and a Femmeprov T shirt. This workshop is the beginning activity aimed towards developing a small company of women to perform regularly in the Fox Valley area. Please email for further information: garethsitz@sbcglobal.net
So which would be time better spent, doing the female-only improv or trying out for a short horror film? I figure at least one of them is calling me.

& the title of their show is One Nation Under Blog. You see that? Under BLOG! Needless to say, I will be there!
It is held at Elgin Community College’s Blizzard Theatre. Click here for more info or to order your last minute tickets.
Second City is one of the coolest comedy troupes around. Located in Chicago with spin offs in other cities, great comedians have come out of there! One of whom is Tina Fey who was hilarious on 30 Rock last night, by the way.

I went to the Springfield, IL website for work-related reasons, where I saw a funny headline.
First vehicle “booted” as city goes after parking scofflaws.

Photo of a booted car, for those who have never seen one. Photo from dcist.com
I wondered, why is booted in quotes, and who uses the word scofflaws? I mean, they have a nice photo of Abe Lincoln on their site, but they’re still in the year 2008 right?

Springfield’s Honest Abe graphic.
So I clicked the link. To a former Chicagoan who thinks of “the boot” as a regular occurrence, the article was pretty funny. They actually published who got the first boot on their car!
The City of Springfield has applied the “boot” to the first vehicle that belongs to an individual who owes $500 or more in unpaid parking tickets. The vehicle was located in the 100 block of North Fourth Street. It is owned by Gary Corcoran, who has since come forward and paid all of his past due parking tickets.
Poor Gary! Though I’m glad to hear he came forward and paid his tickets.
Sometimes small towns are cute. I wonder what other things people can get their name in the paper over? And how many people do you think have been gossiping about that scofflaw Gary Corcoran?

Click here if you missed my interview with the Erd Man. Anyway, I’ve noticed some new revenge-related activity on his site. If you need to get revenge on someone, but calling a hit man is too severe, I think Derek can take care of your problem one of two ways:
1) Original Burger Bomb
Got someone you don’t like too much? Send them a hamburger in the mail. Why not?

2) Vigilante Rap Phone Calls
For a mere $7, the person of your choice will receive a phone call that sounds like this from Rhyme Master Maurice. Honestly, this could be revenge or as a gift, a birthday present, perhaps. If it is for a gift, I think it’d be better to try and catch the person’s voice mail, so they’d have the rap to play back over and over again. If you know someone really boring, or perhaps a bit depressed, this could also work as something to shake up their otherwise boring existence for a while.
